Today is my five year anniversary. It feels like I was a different person before I quit drinking. A different person in my first year of sobriety. And yet who I am was still there and could still go back to that lost place if I'm not careful.
My son, husband and I decorated cookies
for Halloween. My kid is a sophomore in high school now, and that he enjoyed and wanted to do such a goofy thing with his parents is a delight for me. He so grown up in so many ways, but I'm glad he's also still a kid.
I know I've been absent from posting & reading blogs for awhile. But I wanted to let people still bothering to check in here (or might randomly end up here for the 1st time) that I'm still sober and able to live a happy life because of it. Hugs to all.
Happy fifth year, Judith. I am glad that you are enjoying life. Hard to believe that your son is now a sophomore. Hope that you will come by here more often and give an update on your writing.
Lots of creativity in those cookies BTW.

Great to hear from you, Judith. Congratulations on 5 years sober. That beautiful family time decorating the cookies sounds like an awesome reward.

Hello, Judith! I'm glad to hear that you're doing so well. I wish that you would come back to the blogosphere more often, though. You are missed.

CONGRATULATIONS!! 5 YEARS!!! You rock, girl! And, how AWESOME to have your high-school aged son so involved in doing crazy, goofy, fun things with you. I can remember running ahead of my mother so we wouldn't have to walk into a building togehter at that age. *Sigh* "We will not regret the past, nor wish to shut the door on it..." yet sometimes I sure do wish I could have a do-over! Blessings. xoxo

BTW, I don't know what I did. I meant to sign in with my Google ID (PJ of maniacallymenopausal.blogspot.com aka it's a girl thing) and somehow, it turned out this way. So, now you know my IRL name, which is cool. Dont' want to break anyone's anonymity, just kinda dumb when it comes to anything techy.

Day after Thanksgiving, and I'm just traipsing around the blog world a bit, and LOOK WHO I RUN INTO! And...still in time to wish you SO many good things upon your Anniversary #5
Sobriety is the greatest gift. Judith, your Higher Power--with your help--is keeping you sober. This post is SO different from some I remember from you. Couple years ago?
And hubby and son...decorating COOKIES with you??? WOW! Love it!
PEACE, girl.
