Is this title redundant?
Anyway, I've had a serious nibble from a publisher on my book. I say serious because they mentioned "contract." But I say nibble because I've been asked to make some revisions prior to an offer being made.
I've been knocked around so much of late, I think I'll take a page out of Syd's book and just continue to do my best all over and expect nothing to come of this. Worst case scenario? I do the revisions to improve my work that I am doing anyways.

IMO, anyone who "takes Syd's suggestions to heart"--and acts upon them--will not be far off track in the matter of living.

I think that is a good plan, keep your life going on track and the train has to stop sometime right?!

My thoughts and prayers are with you through this process. I appreciate you sharing how difficult it is to go through the rejections, prods and probes of book publishing. I expect that God's will will be done and I look forward to continuing to read your writing here, no matter what.

Judith, I think that having a nibble is great. I keep my expectations low so that I won't be swept by a wave of disappointment. And I keep plugging at stuff. I know that you will keep plugging too.

I think that is a great plan. A nibble using the word contract sounds like a positive development, at least to me.

If, at some point, you say it's Simon & Schuster, I'm going to freak out. But what the hell a large fish tank filled with the paper bound versions of your book had to do it, I haven't a clue, yet. Don't ya just love a good dream? And yeah I know they're a big tangled mess with who really owns who and what belongs to which.
If it is Henry Holt and Company, I had nothing to do with it. Besides I think the family just enjoys the money from the sell these days. I know one of them, rather well. An independent type person, kind of a screw the money, follow his heart type and very good at what he does, which is wide and varied. But I have talked a little about his wife else wheres and she's as much a character as he is, maybe even a little more so. :)
Going to be curious to compare notes at some point. Sounds wonderful. Just be pleased at the changes you make, don't you dare sell out on me.
Redundent? I dunno. But, I won't go there, with how I thought your title first read. Maybe I just did. It did peak my interest. I can't help it, I read funny.

I was so happy to receive your comment on my blog. Welcome.
Stephen King is and I'm pretty sure Dean Koontz is alcoholic and it shines through all their twisted writings. :)
Good luck on your book. Thinking about your current situation, my favorite letter comes to mind: the letter "P".

You're reminding me of the theory that after you've been trying awhile without results that it is when you relax is when you get pregnant. Fecundity (my new favorite word, thanks to Annie Dillard) and Abundance Surround Us.

Sending positive vibes dear friend and more. I told myself that...no matter what happens, keep going. It's not an easy road you and I have chosen. Yet, it's breathes in us...doesn't it? That alone will keep it real. No matter what keep writing, keep learning and keep trying. I'm wishing the best for you. (Hugs)Indigo
P.S. Yep, that is my new blog listed (smiles) Indy

You go gurl. And if you want inspiratin for your next book, try this guy out. He took the Autralian nNational anthem, and turned it into a blues song. Now wouldn't you call that art?

Congratulations on your nephew! I hope mama and baby are doing well.
We do the footwork and we let go of the results. If for some reason this one doesn't come through for you, it's because He has something much bigger in store for you. Be patient and keep doing exactly what you have been doing...the footwork! You are so close now...keep the faith.
