I like her suggestions. Most if what she gas to say is about deepening the layers of the story and not saying my writing itself is problematic. It's just that *sigh* I hadn't realized how incomplete my novel's world was. Talk about myopia. Ah well. Back to revisions.
Truth be told, I'm feeling a little downbeat today. There. I said it. Even though she was surprised I'd only been working on my book since November (it took her 7 years to get her first book finished and published), I feel discouraged and painfully slow.

That's all I've got today, darlin'. I hope it's enough :)

I understand the impatience. I think that you summed up how I would feel about a paper that I would send in for publication. I wanted every word to be okay and to have no revisions. Hang in there.

It's a long haul..but 7 years?!?!? Wow.
You are getting a lot of good suggestions, anyway!

Try not to feel down. I can not imagine the work it takes to put a book together, if the comments make sense, time for some revising. In the end it will be worth it.

Hey girl, if you were not sober, how would this all be working out?
Were not one of the suggestions weeks ago...to start another book, while touting this one?

You might check out the Yarnagogo blog on my list. She just got a book deal in this past year and has probably put more time into rewrite/editting than into the original novel, but she seems to love it. She got a 3 book deal, writes romance. I don't think she got anywhere until she got an agent at a conference. She is also a nanowrimo winner and utterly warm and supportive the few times that I have commented/e-mailed her.
I've got to put Comfort Spiral on my blog list, she'll get a complex after my last post! She's also published a novel and seems very friendly/encouragement.
God is everything or God is nothing. It will happen if it is meant to. And we fellow bloggers will dance around our laptops when it does!
